K´naan junto a la colaboración de Nelly Furtado, logran a través de la melodía transmitir ese pesar que sienten Mary y Adam, los protagonistas de la letra y quienes al parecer se sienten sin apoyo ante todo lo que pasan día a día sin recibir ayuda.
Mary es la chica rechazada que nunca se ha sentido bonita, y a manera de comparación K´naan menciona a la actriz Cameron Díaz. Mary pide ayuda y se pregunta si hay alguien allí afuera y si realmente está sola en la lucha. Adam por su parte nació en una familia dispar, su madre murió y como a veces suele suceder, el papá se sumergió en una vida de alcohol e irresponsabilidades, olvidándose de atender al hijo y prestarle la atención necesaria.
Estos dos ejemplos son usados por K´naan para retratar los problemas sociales que a veces sufren muchos, que en algunos son discriminados por sus mismos allegados. Este cantante de origen somalí, ha logrado a través de su rap plasmar su visión de la realidad a modo de protesta y tratar de hacer un llamado de atención.
